Jae is the founder and Principal of BallBoy Productions, a unique digital video production company based in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona. BBP originated in 1998, the year Jae left his job as a video scout for the Phoenix Suns with whom he had worked for 18 years.

In 2005, Jae founded the Almost Famous Film Festival which has in just a few years gained recognition as the largest short-film challenge Nation-wide and one of the most successful film festivals in the country.

A graduate of Arizona State University, College of Architecture, School of Industrial Design, Kai Staats is former founder and CEO of Terra Soft Solutions that produced the famed Yellow Dog Linux operating system.

Kai's personal passion for film started with childhood stop-action Lego and clay animations and continues today with on-set assistance with BallBoy Production and support of the Almost Famous Film Festival.

Kai is the Principal of Over the Sun, LLC and Director for SpanAfrica.
